I feel strongly about couples like Natalie and Kevin, about sessions like this one. And when I say “I feel strongly” I mean I want to wrap them up in a great big hug, squealing about how much I love them and not let go until well, ever. They had considered eloping in the mountains before eventually deciding on a wedding in Dallas this summer after all, so when it came time to brainstorm location ideas for their engagement photos, I wanted to give these two the closest thing to mountains as we could get. A three hour drive later we met up in the Wichita mountains of Oklahoma and basically just played together for hours. The scenery was gorgeous, the weather perfect, and Natalie and Kevin settled so comfortably into just being themselves — there was no second guessing, they just went wholeheartedly for everything I threw at them. And that’s all my lil photographer heart could ever hope for — for people to feel like a true version of themselves in front of my camera.
Natalie and Kevin, thank you for being so real in front of my camera. Thank you for trusting me with that. I’m up for an uncomfortably long group hug at the wedding in May if y’all are.
My absolute most favorite part of yesterday’s wedding was the mother of the bride’s toast — “may Sara and Kyle always be like two kids on an adventure.”
There are only NINE DAYS left to enter into the Jillian Zamora Photography giveaway — so exciting!
This January I was sitting at my desk editing a wedding and literally found myself moved to tears at how thankful I am to have this job and how gracious the Lord has been to us in allowing us to do what we love with people we adore. I’m so looking forward to what will come in 2013. There is something about the fresh outlook and anticipation a new year brings and I wanted to share some of my 2013 giddiness by giving away a full day of wedding photography coverage by yours truly and my handsome second-shooter (aka my super-talented husband, James). We are hoping to reach out to brides and grooms all over the world who are planning a wedding day that will be filled to the brim with heart.
Weddings can be on any day of the week — it does not have to be on a weekend to be eligible.
JZP (meaning myself and James) will deliberate over the entries and announce the contest winner on February 28th. We’ve already been loving reading over all of the heartfelt and detailed stories and envisioning all of the fabulous future weddings from the couples who have already sent their entries in!
Top 3 runners up will receive a significantly discounted rate for JZP wedding photography services.
There will be prizes in the form of a free photo session for the person who refers the winning couple/wedding to us — so please share, share, share the giveaway on Facebook, Instagram, via word-of-mouth, email, carrier pigeons — you name it!
If you have any questions about the contest feel free to comment below or send me an e-mail to photo@jillianzamora.com

I realize that this post might be a bit of time-travel for some blog readers, as I’ve already posted my little nephew’s birth story photos and now I’m going back and posting photos of my sister all pregnant again.
What I didn’t mention in the birth story photos is that Sam, my brother-in-law, was deployed with the Air Force for the majority of Jalesa’s pregnancy with Jasper. So what we ended up doing was doing one solo maternity session with Jalesa in November JUST IN CASE Sam wasn’t able to make it home before Jasper was born. Thankfully, Sam arrived back home just in time and we ended up taking maternity photos again (but this time with the whole family present) not knowing that lil Jasper would be born just three days later.
The first half of this post are from the first session. Because Sam wasn’t able to be there, we wanted to represent him in some way — what better way than paper airplanes for Jasper’s Air Force daddy?
Although Jalesa and Sam are stationed in California, they’re Texans at heart. I’m so glad that Jalesa chose to come stay with my parents in Texas while Sam was deployed AND give birth to sweet Jasper in Fort Worth.
The necklace Jalesa’s wearing is one that Sam sent home to her from Afghanistan.
This next segment are the ones we took with momma AND daddy just three days before Jasper arrived.
 Presh.
Just presh.
So happy for you and Sam, oh sister of mine! xoxo
