I really enjoy photographing the Massey family. With a little one as active as Eben in the mix and parents as cool as Rebecca and Colin, it always makes for lively, silly and playful shots.
These are my favorite kind of family photographs.
Enjoy a peek into their session from November.
How fun is it that they brought along Colin’s bike for Eben to “fix” with his tools?! I’ll tell you: it’s really fun.
We ended the session wrapped up in some Christmas lights that Eben found quite tasty.
Until next time, Massey family! X’s and O’s!
Prepare yourselves, because I might accidentally use a lot of exclamation marks in this blogpost.
Joey and Sabra are good friends of James and mine, and have been for quite a while. They actually just had their BABY GIRL this December and she is sooooooooo precious!! I may or may not have had trouble letting James hold her when we went to visit ONLY because I wanted to hold her the ENTIRE time we were there. We’re SO excited for our dear friends. (If you keep going to the end of the post I might treat you with some pictures of us holding sweet little Stella.)
It was my pleasure to take some maternity pictures for Sabra and Joey in November, and here are a few of my favorites from the set.
Joey is the worship leader for the 9:31 service at First Baptist Burleson (James actually plays bass with him in the worship band) and music has always been a huge part of who he is. Therefore, his biggest request for the shoot was that it include a piano.
After working that 8 ft x 8 ft space by the piano for all it was worth, we headed outdoors for a few more shots.
Isn’t she so CUTE?!?!
B-e-a-U-ti-ful people.
(Our friend Jennifer made that super-cute yarn “S’ for Stella)
And now for some (low-quality) photos taken on my iphone during our first visit to see Stella!
I’m already itching to hold her again this Sunday! Congratulations, Joey and Sabra. Welcome to the world, Stella!
Happy last day of 2012, everyone! James and I are having such a great Christmas-New Years break. So far we’ve done Christmas with both sets of families, celebrated the marriage of a couple of dear friends, and now we’re in Arkansas visiting MORE dear friends.
In honor of the last day of 2012 I thought it might be fun to do a JZP behind the scenes blogpost. Through the year we ended up with a nice little collection of photos I took of James working and photos James took of me working — and in most of them we look pretty ridiculous, and that’s okay.
James caught me documenting how dedicated he was to a detail shot at a wedding in February.
This is my fun reception face.
Apparently in order to be deemed a proper reception face, my mouth must be open? At this wedding reception my little brother was a guest — isn’t he so cute?!
James thought he could do his Footloose moves without any wedding guests seeing him . . .
Â
Sometimes photographers like to photobomb too.
I like to think that photos like these prove my clients really do think I’m funny. Let me think that.
James got pulled onto the dance floor (against his will) Â by a guest at this reception. Of course I thought it was hilarious.
James gets all bossy during the bouquet toss.
Look! It’s TIFFANY! She was one of my brides from 2011 and I was SO PLEASED to get to see her at a wedding I was shooting this September.
James thought the groom would really want a photo with him before the first dance.
Talking with my hands is a constant necessity.
Dinosaur hand?
Apparently I go all flight-attendant before the first look.
And that right there was a peek into JZP’s 2012 behind the scenes. We are so incredibly thankful for all of our WONDERFUL clients that we had the joy of working with this year and are very much looking forward to everyone we get to work with in 2013. And thanks for not pointing out to us how ridiculous we tend to look while working with y’all.
Have a happy, happy new year’s eve!
Happy December 28th, everyone! I hope you all had the merriest of Christmases. It’s been such a busy season with lots of traveling between mine and James’ families and limited internet access but I’m so pleased to get back to blogging and ESPECIALLY with this particular engagement session.
Shayla and Matt are of the outdoorsy persuasion so Shayla’s vision was for a camping engagement session. It was just SOFUN working within this vision and I’m SOPLEASED with the resulting images. It helps that Shayla and Matt are just so. dang. cute. together.
Shayla, you are for-real stunning.
And what kind of camping-themed session would it be if they didn’t build a fire and make some s’mores?
Shayla and Matt, I’m already so excited for your wedding! October cannot come fast enough.
