Sarah and Kevin got married on a rainy afternoon last April. That afternoon being Easter. And that rain falling hard enough to become a flash flood warning.

But the good news is they got married and it was absolutely beautiful.

Their venue was the fabulous Hickory Street Annex in Dallas. Give your photographer a venue filled with windows pouring in natural light and you will have a very happy photographer on your hands.

Here Kevin is all set up for the first look with his bride.

Seriously, Sarah, you are just too adorable for words.

After Sarah and Kevin took some time to soak in their first look, we began taking bride-groom portraits anywhere we wouldn’t get rained on. Thankfully Hickory Street Annex has tons of options for naturally lit, indoor portraits, so we had no trouble at all staying out of the rain.

Right as the sun was setting the rain subsided and the reception got started with first dances, cake cutting and lots of fun with Sarah and Kevin’s friends and family.

It was seriously SUCH a pleasure to work with you two and your sweet, sweet families.

Sarah and Kevin are actually expecting their second child soon — so excited for you guys!!

I give you this post filled to the brim with three of the cutest little girls in existence, tutus, and glitter.

You’re welcome.

During my last semester in college I would nanny these three sisters about 2-3 days a week and, I have to say, it was my favorite college job. Now getting to take photos of these darlings is my favorite job!

These girls are so sweet because they were taught by a mom who is in the “best-of-the-best” mother category. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Wendy.

Thoughtful Gracie

Sweet Annie

And giggly Lilly

So how’s that for being tackled with some sister-love on a Thursday morning?

Again, you’re welcome.

April was so sweet.

To illustrate my point, here are a few of the lovely Sarah’s bridals.

And then there was my road trip to Lubbock to take my darling friend Sara’s college graduation photos. (p.s. Sara, if you’re reading this, let’s have dinner soon!)

I always love shooting at the Milestone, especially when the bride is as stunning as Kara.

Every time I look at this above image I see Scarlett from “Gone With the Wind.”

And who doesn’t love a precious camping engagement session with a full-grown boy scout and girl scout?

Emily and Sam worked the camera at their Denton engagement session before tying the knot this past July.

Well hey! Speaking of Emily — I also took her bridals in April!

It may have been super-cloudy on the day we took Terri and Tim’s engagement photos but these two are so goofy together the place brightened right up.

Wait for it . . . .waaaaaaait for it: Here are their signature Robert Di Niro impressions.

This photo session was part destination graduation and part sibling photos as a surprise for Anne’s parents.

I just saw these two get married on Saturday! Their preview will be up before the end of the week, but while you’re waiting why don’t you check out a few of Laura and Tristan’s engagement photos?

I think the world of Keri and Nick. Plus the light at their engagement session was to die for so, you know, double win.

And gosh, speaking of April being a sweet month, it’s so fitting to end with a few of Kari and Jim’s engagement photos.

And there you have it — an incredibly fast-forwarded summary of my April 2012. Check back soon for a couple post showcasing my April 2012 weddings too!

Tabatha and Steven have such a cool story.

I won’t pretend to be able to tell it in completion or remember the exact timeframes, but I can tell you a simplified version: they met, they very quickly fell in love and decided to have a justice 0f the peace marriage ceremony before Steven deployed with the Air Force.  And when he came home last March they had this beautiful celebratory wedding with family and friends at Tabatha’s parent’s home.

I know those two sentences do not nearly do justice to their story but I hope this post does a better job of showing at least their wedding day story and how entirely, wonderfully and perfectly they fit together.

You’ll see a lot of photos throughout the post of Steven’s little neices. They were all over the place the entire day just being cute as all get out.

In the above photo Tabatha treks across a pasture for the first look with Steven.

Something about Steven’s smile in the photo below tells me he was happy to see herrrrrrr (that was typed in a sing-song voice).

During their bride-groom portraits Steven surprised Tabatha with one of his wardrobe choices — a Superman t-shirt underneath his button-down. Apparently this was a “classic Steven” move.

Every time I see this above photo I can’t help but think that it embodies Tabatha and Steven’s relationship to a certain extent. Each time I’m around them I’m struck with a sense of how naturally they fit together and how incredibly happy one makes the other.

Not too long after this day Steven and Tabatha packed up and moved to Alaska because Steven is stationed out that way. But I’m so happy to report that I’ve had a chance to see them once more since this lovely March afternoon — at a wedding I photographed this past July where Steven was the best man!

Tabatha and Steven, I think y’all are great. Thanks for letting me and James document a portion of your perfect story.
