Ah, May. The month of bridal sessions and the very beginning of the summer wedding season. If you’re a wedding photographer, you love May.
Let’s start this recap post off with the ridiculously gorgeous Cassidy, whose senior photos I took around TWU.
Remember last week’s post of the clothesline maternity session (which, I realize now sounds relatively violent, but I promise it was entirely peaceful)? Well, here’s the part II — a sweet little newborn session.
It kills me to have to reduce such a gorgeous garden wedding down to a measly thirteen photos, but alas, here is just the tiniest peek into Deanna and Scott’s lovely Arboretum wedding followed by a intimate reception at local restaurant.
In May I also took some family photos for my dear friend Kelsey’s family. They’re always such a hoot.
And goodness gracious, everyone take a quick second to gawk with me over how absolutely gorgeous Kaity was for her bridal session at the Fort Worth botanic gardens.
Sweet Mandi’s bridal session took place at the good ‘ol TWU gardens.
How fun is it that Meghan included her now husband’s trumpet in her bridal session. If you missed it earlier, be sure to also check out Meghan and Matt’s teacher love engagement session from December! The trumpet makes an appearance there too!
In true Sarah-fashion, this next bride was all laughs and giggles at her Wildwood Inn bridal session.
Stefanie and Scott’s wedding day took place at Edison’s in Dallas and man-oh-man was that venue packed full with with l-o-v-e.
I’m so excited to share Theresa and Gaba’s wedding day images, but in the meantime posting Theresa’s pretty bridals are going to have to hold me over.
Ah! It’s Trina and Toby’s engagement session. I actually just shot their UH-mazing wedding two weeks ago and you can view their wedding preview on the JZP Facebook page right here.
That was May’s recap. Check back through the rest of the week to view a few more May wedding blogposts and then before you know it we’ll be up to June!
Have I mentioned before that I love outdoor weddings?
Well, I do. I love outdoor weddings.
There, I said it.
Kara and Michael’s wedding last April was at The Orchard and James and I so enjoyed photographing the day!
Kara’s mom embroidered all of these hankerchiefs! Such a sweet, thoughtful detail.
Kara, you are b-e-a-U-ti-ful.
Their ceremony was timed perfectly because the light was just right for bride-groom portraits immediately afterwards. Ceremony timing is particularly important when planning outdoor weddings, especially if you’re planning to take bride-groom portraits afterwards. When in doubt during planning, always feel free to ask your photographer when the best lighting will be. We looooove to help!
Well actually, I guess I can’t personally speak for every single photographer in existence, but I’m the sure the majority of us would fall under the “helpful” category.
There was much bridesmaid fun to be had in the photo booth.
Hope your first five months of marriage has been amazing, Kara and Michael!
Brandy and AG are SUCH a fun couple and James and I had the pleasure of documenting their Plano Event 1013 wedding this past April.
Also, I am forever indebted to these two (and their wedding party) for teaching me what “YOLO” meant, as I’m often a little behind the curve on knowing what those pop culture acronyms mean.
For example, after many months of confusion, I FINALLY had to ask a friend what “FTW” stood for. It was embarrassing.
Enough about me, enjoy looking through some of Brandy and AG’s images from their lovely wedding day.
Brandy, you made for a some-kind-of-gorgeous bride.
I was in love with their use of lemons as a form of place cards to mark where guests should sit — so clever and cute.
Right after the ceremony we sneaked outside to use up the last snippet of daylight for some bride-groom portraits of the new Mr. and Mrs.
And of course we couldn’t forget the groomsmen  and handsome groom . . .
True to their personalities, the first dance was all laughs with these two.
Thanks for letting us be a part of your wedding day, Brandy and AG!
So perhaps you may have noticed I’ve been blogging these past few weeks? If not, you probably should have because it was a drastic change from, oh, not blogging AT ALL EVER.
As I’ve explained in previous posts, I have been incredibly behind on blogging. At first I told myself, “You’re just going through a busy season. You’ll get it together and start blogging again.” After about six months of telling myself that, I began to wonder if I would ever be able to bring blogging back into the JZPÂ repertoire. I missed it so badly, but there was just really no time in my days for it as I was editing session after session and wedding after wedding like a maniac.
Then one day I get an e-mail in my inbox from this girl politely asking if I needed any help with blogging.
My internal initial reaction was, “YUHESS PLEASE!! I NEED BLOGGING HELP SO BADLY! THAT WOULD BE THE BEST THING EVER! PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE HELP!”
But I believe my super-professional response to her was more along the lines of, “Why don’t we get together soon to talk about about it?”
And so we did.
I had actually met Danielle before, as she was close friends with a bride of mine from March (the getting ready photos for that wedding were actually taken at Danielle’s home), but this was my first time to sit down and have a conversation with her. We sat in Jupiter House for a solid hour talking about how we envisioned this working. So you know how I’ve been blogging way overtime these past three weeks? That would have all been impossible without Danielle first prepping/resizing/uploading all of the images I sent over to her so that I only had to worry about adding in any text after she was finished.
So, without further ado, I am SO PLEASED to officially announce Danielle’s new role as JZP’s blogging assistant. Of course I waited to announce it until I could do so with some with some supergorgeousbeautiful photos of Danielle to pair with the post.
Danielle is a local blogger and artist who studied art education at UNT . Be sure to check out her blog and stop by her etsy shop and admire all her pretty work!
I know it’s only been three weeks of working with her but I keep finding myself wanting to use the phrase “apple of my eye” in reference to Danielle. Seriously, you guys, she’s been THAT helpful and THAT great to work with.
And that was BEFORE she sent me a text message with a flamenco dancer emoticon. (But that definitely sealed the “apple-of-my-eye” deal.)
Danielle, I’m so excited that you’re a part of the JZP team!
And I know all of your blog readers are so excited too because it means y’all will actually have blog posts to look at! Be sure to leave her some comment love here, on her own blog, or on her facebook page. OR ALL THREE! Also, be sure to “like” her daniellelandy Facebook page while you’re there!
Happy Thursday, everyone!
(and NO, I toooootally didn’t have to look at my calendar before typing that to know what day of the week it was . . .)
