After my initial consultation with Kaity just about a year out from her wedding, I had already decided that she was an absolute doll and that this Matt fellow she had talked so much about during the consultation was getting a catch of a bride.
But then I met Matt and had to draw a new conclusion: these two are BOTH obviously catches.
Seeing their raw excitement, overwhelming joy, adoration and love all throughout the wedding day caused me to praise Jesus for bringing together such two awesome people.
The wedding ceremony was at the beautiful Robert Carr Chapel at TCU.
And ohhhhhhh my goodness — Kaity did a first look with her dad before the ceremony and it was among the sweetest moments I’ve ever had the honor of documenting.
If you look closely at the above photo you can see Matt literally doubled over with joy at seeing his bride walking down the aisle.
Gahh, I love capturing the moments directly after the ceremony when the couple gets to soak-up/celebrate all that just took place.
After finishing up all the post-ceremony portraits we headed on over to the McDavid Studio for the party.
And at the point when I thought Kaity and Matt couldn’t possibly be any more awesome, they broke the news about their plans for a snow cone trailer outside their reception for all their wedding guests to enjoy.
Oh happy day, when Kaity and Matt became husband and wife! I’m so thankful that you would choose me and James to document it all. Thank you, thank you.
On the day of Kate and Caleb’s engagement session just about every single thing that could go wrong for me did. I won’t go into the grand details but let’s just say the hour before the session involved getting locked out of my apartment and a frantic switching of cars and quite a few tears. Oh yeah and it was RAINY on the day I had a photo shoot scheduled with a couple who had travelled down from HOUSTON for the session.
But when I arrived at Recycled Books to meet up with Kate and Caleb their sweet demeanor calmed me right down and I couldn’t have asked for better clients to work with after the stressful afternoon I had undergone. They didn’t stress about the rain and just decided to be their adorable selves indoors.
Kate is wearing a classy little bug brooch on her dress! You know what kind of person wears adorable bug brooches on pretty lace dresses? Cute girls.
Because of the rain we decided (with fingers crossed) to just meet up the next afternoon to finish up with the outdoor portion of their shoot as long as it didn’t keep raining.
Thankfully the rain subsided and I got the grand pleasure of spending two afternoons in a row with this lovely couple. Â And although it was incredibly muggy, Kate and Caleb were both such troopers!
Kate is currently working on completing her masters of photography so of course she needed to represent that huge part of her life in the engagement session! Yay for fellow lovers of photography!!
Be sure not to miss the titles of the books they’re reading — both are “Caleb and Kate,” because apparently those are names that sound so great together they belong in a storybook . . . or two!
These two also share a fondness for bikes, so that’s exactly where we ended the session — two bikes and a lot of fondness.
Kate and Caleb, y’all are beyond precious together and I simply cannot wait for your wedding next summer!
Josephine and Clay’s engagement session was on the dreariest of drizzly days.
We went ahead with the shoot though because the original plan was to do a portion of the session in the kitchen with the two of them cooking up a storm as an ode to this activity they love to do together. And the good thing is that you don’t need sunshine to cook up a storm.
Seriously, you two are stinkin’ adorable together.
I told them there was no way they could think they’d be getting out of a photo shoot cooking spaghetti without a little Lady and the Tramp spaghetti kiss action. They obliged.
Oh, and funny story? What started out as a drizzly, bleak afternoon turned into some of the prettiest sunshine reflecting off the wet ground. So we took advantage of it of course.
L-o-v-e the photo below. lovelovelovelovelove.
Josephine and Clay, y’all are lovely. Just lovely.
I’m so honored y’all chose me to document this precious season of your lives.
August in Texas may very well be consistently and unbearably hot and humid, but boy was it ever filled with some of the sweetest clients that made the heat well worth photographing in.
FIrst up is Jacklyn and Matt.
Guys, there are fewer things that make my heart happier than being asked to photograph anniversary sessions for couples whose weddings I’ve also photographed. It’s just such an honor to get to photograph such pivotal moments throughout the journey of a couple’s relationship. I photographed Jacklyn and Matt’s engagement sessionS, Jacklyn’s bridals, their August 2011 wedding day, and, now, their one-year anniversary photos in the town they lived in during their first year of marriage.
I thought the handmade “1” Jacklyn crafted for session was such a cute addition to signify their first marriage anniversary!
The Griffith’s are such a lively family from my hometown who had lots of fun together in front of the camera being their goofy selves. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
HOW FUN IS JULIE’S RED HEADPIECE?!?! When she pulled it out for her’s and Trevor’s engagement session I just about died from giddiness. Fun accessories = fun photos. This precious couple weds next March and I can’t wait to get them back in front of my camera again — next time in wedding attire (plus fun accessories, I feel certain).
The day of Tammy and Tyler’s engagement session was one of those special sessions that got to include BOTH bursts of sunlight and super-moody-awesome clouds. I’m so looking forward to Tammy and Tyler’s wedding next April!
YAY for August and all of the wonderful clients who filled this month. More August posts to come soon!
